We’ve all seen the terms “organic” and eco-friendly” splashed across products and practices over the last several years. As a designer, Dwayne has noticed a measurable uptick in requests from his clients to incorporate these mindful choices into their homes. But what does that mean? Well there are many ways, and varying degrees, of organic living that you can welcome into your home. The main principles are being aware of what products are made with and how they are made. The everyday products and design elements of our homes can contain harmful chemicals that are released into the air we breathe. Similarly, the durability and longevity of our home’s contents contributes to our long-term impact. And finally, the very functionality of our homes – lighting, heating/cooling, and other systems – play a major role in how efficiently our home uses energy.
