After a successful circuit at Salone del Mobile 2022, Dwayne returns this year connecting with old friends and marveling at the abundance of inspiration. From Kreoo’s newest marble creations to the Artemest’s L’Appartamento exhibition, Dwayne shares some of his standout moments from the storied design capital.
Salone is where industry norms are tested and interior design trends are born. Taking a cue from themes centered around sustainability, designers and innovators alike gravitated towards playing on the versatility of the color green. Its restorative properties make for a more interesting solution than neutral tones while remaining less overpowering than bright pops of color. Dwayne felt particularly inspired by Kreoo’s take on this emerging trend, with their exclusive shade of Artik Green – a complex, three-dimensional texture progressing through shades from light to dark green in the marbling of gray and wisteria. It’s the perfect shade for conjuring effortless sophistication.
One of the best aspects of Milan Design Week is that top designers and innovators from around the world come together in an explosion of culture and design. Artemest, a provider of authentic artisanal design solutions, opened the doors of their collaborative experiential project, L’Appartamento, sharing the power of Italian beauty with the public. Six international interior design firms transformed a classic 1930s Milanese apartment and curated the space to embody the palatial trajectory of the design world. Journeying through the apartment, Dwayne was greeted by natural light filtering through colored glass windows and warm natural tones opening into enchanting entryways and ending with an eclectic dream terrace designed by Miami-based firm, MONIOMI Design. It’s always refreshing to see the surprising interiors birthed from collaboration, as well as Florida’s talent being celebrated on an international stage.
